A career spent fixing things
Michael began in banking as an executive vice president at a community bank in Louisiana. In 1985 he founded Alston Financial Services, a consulting firm that banks and the FDIC brought in to work through troubled loan portfolios and to help healthy banks grow into new markets. He ran it for four decades.
Along the way he built businesses of his own: he founded and ran a community fitness center for twenty years, and in 2007 co-founded East Texas Homes, a home building and land development company he is still part of today.
His role at Alston Wealth
His sons grew up watching that work and became financial advisors to do the same thing for families: look at the whole picture, find what's really wrong, and fix it before it gets expensive. As President, Michael oversees how the business is run and brings forty years of experience building and running companies.
